B.Tech Lateral Entry
Lateral Entry Program is an innovative program, in which students who have completed a 3-year Diploma in Engineering can take admission and get B. Tech. degree in just three years.
B.Tech is a graduation course in the field of engineering. This is a technical course of 4year duration. Students who have a diploma in engineering can take admission through lateral entry. They will be promoted to the second year of the graduation course. However, they first need to check whether the lateral entry is provided by the college or not.
During the diploma in engineering, students learn all the basic concepts of the field. They also learn the skills and practical applications of the concepts in the course. So, they have specific knowledge of the subject. Thus they are more suitable than the regular 12th pass students. However, a diploma course does not provide you with deep knowledge of your field.
